Sparta without power Saturday

Substation transformer was down

Close to 6,000 Xcel Energy customers in the Sparta area were without power Saturday for quite some time.

The outage was due to a transformer that went down at a substation. Power was down from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

At one point Saturday, there were five outages reported that affected almost the entire city.
