WI Republicans want absolute power

Get out of the way. Because if you don’t Wisconsin republicans will run you over to get what they want. Republicans control the Assembly and Senate, the Governor’s office, and the Supreme Court. They want to use all that power to get away with whatever they want. Consider the list of things the current Wisconsin legislature has done, or tried to do, to galvanize their power, and squash anyone or anything who stands in the way of that. The latest example if the vote to dismantle the Government Accountability Board, hailed as a national model of good government. They tried, failed, but might try again to exempt legislators from complying with the open records laws, making it harder to keep track of what they are doing behind the scenes. They want to get rid of the democrat in charge of public education in favor of an appointed position. They forced longtime Supreme Court Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson to the sidelines by changing the rules to put a Republican in charge. They have gerrymandered legislative boundaries to make it easier for Republicans to win election. Who knows what they have up their sleeve next. They want absolute power. But voters should remember the famous quote, “power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.”
