Third suspect in Winona murder waives extradition in Illinois

Suspected shooter is fighting extradition from Wausau

A second suspect in the Winona murder of Adam Fort will be headed back to Minnesota soon.

A Winona County attorney confirms that Reginald Burnett has waived extradition in a Chicago area court, so the Winona sheriff’s office will make arrangements to transport him to the area.

Burnett, 18 years old, surrendered to police at his family’s home in Illinois over the weekend. Tuesday, Kayla Mae Clay, 18, appeared before a Winona judge.

The third suspect, Lonnie Hudson, 23, of La Crosse, is fighting extradition in Wausau, Wis.

The three face charges for the shooting death of Fort during a robbery attempt at his Winona apartment.
