La Crosse’s parking ‘czar’ won’t have other duties

Coordinator will not have other
duties, like maintaining ramps

Whoever is hired to manage public parking in La Crosse will be “100 percent dedicated to parking.”

That’s what city public works director Dale Hexom says about the new position of parking coordinator.

Hexom says the coordinator will not have to work on non-parking issues, unlike his own assistant, Bob Haines, who spends a majority of his work time now on maintaining the parking ramps.

Haines is expected to be the mentor who will train the new coordinator on how to manage ramp parking.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
