Police testify on drug tracking bust

Three of 17 identified were in court today

Three people arrested in a La Crosse drug trafficking bust heard police testify in court today about their drug activities.

John Vang, Timothy Loftus, and Melissa Ozleplebici are facing drug conspiracy charges.

La Crosse police Lt. Matt Malott says Vang has been major contact with a drug cartel in St. Paul, and Melissa was one of six people who routinely distributed meth that was transported from the Twin Cities.

Money from the drug sales was used to buy another supply of meth.

Seventeen local people have been identified as members of the meth ring.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
