Discover Wisconsin features La Crosse’s Rotary Lights

Show will air at 5 p.m. Sunday

Those who attended the opening of Rotary Lights in La Crosse last November might recall a crew from the Discover Wisconsin TV show filming the event. 

At 5 p.m. Sunday, the episode about La Crosse’s yearly Christmas light display will air on WXOW.

La Crosse convention bureau director Dave Clements says viewers will see what it takes to put together the massive light display, which has been copied by about a dozen Midwestern cities.

Clements believes there was some local tourism increase a year ago, after ‘Discover Wisconsin’ aired a show about motorcycle riding in western Wisconsin.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.

    Can I just say what a relief to find someone who actually knows what they’re talking about on the internet. You definitely know how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More people need to read this and understand this side of the story. I cant believe you’re not more popular because you definitely have the gift.
