A new methamphetamine bust in La Crosse County has led to the arrests of a man and two women.

Investigators, however, say the arrests made Thursday are not tied to the drug sweep announced last week, involving 17 individuals selling meth made in Mexico.

This morning, three more of the people connected to that drug ring entered not-guilty pleas. La Crosse police Lieutenant Matt Malott testified against Christopher McCartney, who’s accused of making drug runs to St. Paul with co-defendant John Vang.

Malott says McCartney’s girlfriend saw him hauling a “gallon-size” bag of meth on one of those road trips and claimed that McCartney and Vang would take daily runs to the Twin Cities to bring back meth to be sold in La Crosse.
