Winona business fined $70,000 for air-pollution violations

ColorWare fined for not having permits

WINONA, Minn. – An industrial painting company from Winona will pay $70,000 in penalties for violating Minnesota air-pollution standards.

The state has fined the ColorWare for operating paint booths without air quality permits. Those booths can release tons of pollutants in a year, and the violations reportedly lasted for six years.

ColorWare does custom painting of mobile phones and other electronic devices.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
