Winona murder suspect’s bond set at $5 million

Hudson, a La Crosse man, is
suspected of second-degree murder

WINONA, Minn. – Bond is set at $5 million in Winona County for murder suspect Lonnie Hudson.

The La Crosse man made his first appearance in Winona County court Friday, since being arrested for the October 18 shooting death of Adam Fort.

Hudson was captured in Wausau, Wis., four days after the murder, and was transferred to Winona on Thursday.

He’s suspected of second-degree murder, robbery and three other charges. Hudson returns to court on November 12.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse.
