Halloween lights come down, Rotary Lights going up
Riverside Park decorations open day after Thanksgiving
As Halloween decorations are starting to come down, you can already see Christmas lights on at night in La Crosse’s Riverside Park.
Preparation in the park for Rotary Lights began over a week ago, and the warm, sunny conditions Sunday may have helped make the process faster, according to Rotary Lights president Pat Stephens.
In reality, the Rotary crews spread out the work in the park through November. The official opening is the night after Thanksgiving, though Stephens jokes that they still have last-minute touches to make on the night of the lighting ceremony each year.
