Holmen fire board to address suspended chief in December
Discipline came at a special session Sunday night
HOLMEN, Wis. – Further action on the Holmen fire chief may come soon.
Holmen fire board president Rolly Bogert said that there’s a pretty good chance that the board, at a special meeting scheduled for early December, will at least address the growing issues with embattled chief Doug Schober.
The Holmen area fire board met Sunday in a closed session to suspend Schober in what one board member called an “emergency session.”
The suspension comes after Schober apparently disciplined a firefighter on Friday without providing a reason. And that, after numerous complaints about Schober and the urging of some board members that he resign for the good of the department.
All six board members voted in favor of suspending Schober. None would comment on the specifics of Sunday’s meeting.
