La Crosse man looking at 12 years for possessing a gun

A La Crosse man accused of pressing his gun to another man’s neck is now being charged with possessing a weapon as a felon.

The new charge against Paul Thomas is being filed a week after he allegedly pulled a handgun on Anthony Tillis while they were walking near Logan Middle School.

The gun possession charge carries a possible sentence of 12 years in prison, on top of charges of pointing a firearm and reckless endangerment as a repeater.

Thomas has requested more time to prepare for a pre-trial hearing, now set for next week.
