Groundbreaking could happen in summer

For years, the village of Holmen has been planning new buildings for the police and the local library.

The police station opened back in the spring, and now funding has been given the OK for a library to be built about a block away from the cop shop.

The library’s director, Chris McArdle Rojo, says the new building will provide more room for educational programs that are short on space now.

Groundbreaking for the Holmen library could happen next summer. Some village board members wanted the project to be put to a referendum.
