Year-round school not favored by La Crosse teachers

Hamilton Elementary experimented with it since 2013

Back in 2013, the La Crosse School district experimented with year-round school at Hamilton Elementary.

Two years later, superintendent Randy Nelson says things have worked out pretty well.

On the radar for year-round school now, Lincoln, SOTA II and Coulee Montessori middle schools.

Nelson says out of a school survey, of the 50 staff members at Lincoln, most had no interest in the calendar and 15 needed more information before they could make a decision.

Another district-wide survey goes out early next year to gauge a larger audience.
