Driver bails from car before it’s struck by train
Police arrested them for OWI
A driver nearly was struck by a train Sunday night, getting out of their car before being hit.
Just before 5:30 p.m., Mauston police were called to a crash at Highway 12/16 in Juneau County.
Police found the empty car hit by the train, and soon after found the driver nearby. The unidentified person was arrested for OWI.
There were no injuries associated with the crash. The car was severely damaged and the train suffered minor damage. The train and tracks were inspected by Canadian Pacific staff.
