Reichwein wins recall election

The Arcadia mayor is no more. In the midst of his fourth term, mayor John Kimmel was removed on a recall vote.

Kimmel lost the vote to Trempealeau County Supervisor Rob Reichwein, 373-164.

The recall came because Kimmel was accused of misappropriating funds and not listening to feedback from the public during the debate over frac-sand mining. Kimmel on the other hand, accused leaders of the petition of making false accusations.

Kimmel said before the recall that if he lost, he would still run again for the position in April.
