Broadband coming to rural Winona County
Whitewater, Cedar valley could
have internet by 2017
A pair of grants could bring broadband Internet to parts of rural Winona County next year.
Cedar Valley and the Whitewater State Park area could have internet thanks to the Border-to-Border Broadband Development Grant Program awarding both Hiawatha Broadband Communications and Winona County.
The end result of both projects will be broadband connectivity for nearly 400 houses and around 200 businesses.
Construction on each project will begin in the Spring of 2016 with broadband services expected to be active by the end of 2016.
