Great Rivers United Way wants to hit a goal today

That goal, $2,000, on this, Giving Tuesday

After Black Friday and Cyber Monday promote shopping, there comes a day devoted to giving to others.

Today is that day, called Giving Tuesday. The Great Rivers United Way in La Crosse hopes to get $2,000 worth of donations just today, to help meet the yearly fundraising goal.

Local United Way director Mary Kay Wolf says donations can be made through the agency’s website here.

Wolf urges retired workers to consider giving to United Way, especially if they used to donate through a workplace program.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
