One building to come down yet to make way for downtown hotel

Chapter Two will be town down,
had been open since 1986

A sign of change in downtown La Crosse, as a familiar bar sign comes down.

Monday, a worker was lifted in a basket to detach a large Go’s Chapter Two sign from the former tavern on Third Street. Chapter Two had operated at that corner since 1986.

The building will be torn down soon to make way for a new hotel near the twin bridges. It’s the last building that needs to come down.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
