Unnamed committee in charge of renaming neighborhood center

Idea was to name it after recently
past Bernie Maney, who helped get center built

For now, a post mortem honor has been put on hold for a longtime La Crosse city council member. 

Some had hoped to rename the South Side Neighborhood Center after Bernie Maney, who recently died and served about three decades on the council. 

Maney was instrumental in the center getting built more than a decade ago.

The council, however, has put the renaming plan on ice for two months, preferring to defer to a special naming committee, which … has yet to be named.
