Ellenson went for 15 points,
11 rebounds in beating Badgers

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Marquette University basketball team’s Henry Ellenson has won Big East Freshman of the Week honors for the second time this season.

The award was announced Monday. Ellenson averaged 17.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in wins over San Jose and at rival Wisconsin last week.

The 6-foot-11 freshman from Rice Lake, Wisconsin, finished with 15 points (7 of 17 from the field) and 11 rebounds in a 57-55 win over Wisconsin (6-5).

For the season, Ellenson is leading Marquette (8-2) in scoring with 16.5 points and 9.0 rebounds. He’s shooting 46.5 percent from the field and 27.3 from beyond the arc. Ellenson has started all 10 games and is averaging 2.6 assists, 1.2 blocks, .5 steals and 2.3 turnovers.

Against the Badgers, while Ellenson shined, La Crosse, Wis., native Bronson Koenig struggled. The junior was 3-for-11 from the field, 2-for-4 from beyond the arc. He scored eight points had a block, a steal, an two assists and a turnover.
