Optum Health doesn’t hit La Crosse job requirements, misses out on $240,000 incentive
City to decide whether to give
company another year to hit marks
A new agreement between the city and Optum Health will give the company another year to create a couple hundred jobs.
The company, which purchased the Logistics Health and Riverside Center buildings downtown, came to an agreement that it would add 2,000 jobs by the end of the year.
That hasn’t happened.
The city council will decide next month on whether to give Optum an extension on job-creation goals that were part of original Riverside Center development deals back when those downtown buildings were owned by Don Weber.
Weber sold the buildings to Optum but is still employed by the company as the CEO of Logistics Health.
Under the new agreement Optum will now have until the next year to get those 2,000 jobs. If it happens, it collects nearly $240,000 in incentives from the city.
