City expected to bond just over $2 million

ONALASKA, Wis. – Just a couple more details to work out before Onalaska’s Great River Landing project gets underway.

Design for the trailhead facility was approved a few weeks ago, said Brea Grace. Next, the minor details, which will come in January.

Grace says funding for the project will come from a Wisconsin DNR and a $346,000 DNR stewardship grant.

The city is expected to bond for just over $2 million to pay for the rest of the cost of the Great River Landing’s first phase. That could also be approved next month as well.
