Highways should be close to normal by this evening
Crews were out early
and will be out all day
It’s that time of year again, the time to complain about the roads not being plowed, your car being plowed in and the struggle to get anywhere.
Monroe County highway commissioner Jack Dittmar says his crews were out early, and are working throughout the day, so things should be back to normal by the evening.
But, he added, this was not a typical snowfall. He said tackling a snow that falls heavy then stops is one thing, but when snow starts to fall again, 1-2 inches an hour, they have to start all over again, making things slow quite a bit.
