7 Rivers hosting job-creation breakfast at Western Tech

The 7 Rivers Alliance is hosting a breakfast this month with a focus being helping out in the job creation market.

Executive director Lisa Herr said they will bring the tools, those who attend need just bring the appetite for knowledge. The event takes place from 7-9 p.m. Jan. 21 at the Lunda Center at Western Technical College campus.

The complimentary breakfast is open to the first 30 companies. Deadline is Jan. 14. To register go here.

Herr says that grant funding is being made available to Wisconsin manufacturing and food processing companies to help them enhance worker recruitment efforts.

The breakfast will conclude with a discussion on measuring current employee satisfaction and resources available to help hire them and keep them.

She says there are 2,981 manufacturing job positions available throughout in the 7 Rivers Region. 

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
