Three projects due
to finish this year

La Crosse County has found ways to save more than $100,000 on its building-shuffle project downtown.

A county-planning committee has been told that between tax savings and various changes to building plans, nearly $119,000 has been trimmed from the overall budget.

The full cost of the project, however, is still around $23 million.

The committee got a progress report Tuesday on the completion of changes at the law enforcement center, expansion of the health building and the remodeling of Associated Bank into a new administrative center.

All those projects are scheduled to be finished by the end of this year.
