WAFER brings in 15,000 pounds of food from Rotary Lights
Group will distribute donations
to 11 area food pantries
The numbers are in from donations brought in from the Rotary Lights the nights the WAFER program was on the clock.
Director Erin Waldhart said donations for the seven nights at Rotary Lights, WAFER brought in around 15,000 pounds of food – down about 9,000 pounds from 2014.
The food will now be distributed to 11 area food pantries.
Waldhart didn’t know why donations were down, adding it is a hard event to predict. Rotary Lights was open 35 nights beginning on Thanksgiving.
Waldhart did say WAFER is very grateful to the entire community for the help they receive every year.
