school into apartments
The conversations about what to do with the Roosevelt school building in La Crosse began more than two years ago.
Tuesday, La Crosse School District superintendent Randy Nelson broke the news mid-afternoon that a decision on the old, vacant building had been reached.
Gorman & Company has agreed to close on the purchase by June 3. It will be redeveloping the 100-year-old building into 32 one- and two-bedroom apartments. The company estimates costs around $6.6 million.
Nelson said he plans to bring the agreement to the board for consideration at its Jan. 25 meeting.
