Exit 3 development is an expansive one
City council to vote Thursday
on funding that could cost $200,000
The redesign plan for La Crosse’s Exit 3 and the Rose Street corridor is expansive.
City planner Jason Gilman says it’s a mistake to consider the development plan just for areas adjacent to Highway 53.
“Our project scope extends from Exit 3 all the way down to Riverside North,” Gilman said. “So it’s looking at all the commercial nodes and neighborhood areas in between.”
Gilman expects the entire north side to be impacted by the plans that will include possible redevelopment and some design improvements.
A city council committee will vote Thursday night on funding a consultant to work on the north side plan. That funding could be around $200,000.
