To get reelected, Chilsen will have
to do so by write-in campaign

The mayor of Onalaska won’t be on the upcoming ballot this April.

An “oversight” mayor Joe Chilsen called it, leaving his address off some nomination papers, which left him under the required number of total valid signatures to get on the ballot.

The nomination papers were challenged by the only other candidate in the mayor’s race, Jack Pogreba.

So now, Chilsen, wrapping up his first term, will be talking with supporters over the next few days, to help him decide whether to run a write-in campaign.
