Wisconsin republicans trying to change workers comp program
Expert says it’s a
solution without a problem
Another shot at Wisconsin’s Workers Compensation Program is part of the republican legislative agenda this session.
A bill has been introduced that would make substantial changes to the program.
It’s a solution searching for a problem, says president of the Wisconsin Association for Justice, Russ Galla.
“When the insurance rates are low, there’s a lot of competition to insure employers in Wisconsin,” Galla said. “Wisconsin has a great return to work rates. So, it seems to be working by any objective measure.”
Supporters of the state’s workers-comp program say it’s a model for the nation and benefits not only employees but employers as well.
