Discovered missing information
that will leave mayor off next ballot

Jack Pogreba will be the lone candidate on the Onalaska ballot for mayor come April, thanks to Jack Pogreba.

He said he wasn’t tipped off, but heard rumors current mayor Joe Chilsen’s papers could be missing key information. So, he checked for himself.

What he found was correct. Chilsen left his address off some nomination papers, which left him under the required number of total valid signatures to get on the ballot.

Now, Chilsen is thinking about running a write-in campaign. Something that doesn’t bother Pogreba. He says some city residents also think the discussions to make the mayor’s office a part-time position after approving Chilsen’s idea of a city administrator, should have been done more openly.

The change to part-time status takes effect after the election.
