ONALAKSA, Wis. – Jack Pogreba is hoping to take down two Onalaska mayors and win two elections this April.

The former city council member is now the lone candidate for mayor on the spring ballot, after discovering himself of incumbent Joe Chilsen’s nomination papers that didn’t follow election rules, eliminating him from the ballot.

Pogreba also wants to join the La Crosse County board, running against incumbent supervisor, and former Onalaska mayor, Mike Giese.

Pogreba told reporters that serving both positions could have advantages for his community, by being able to know what’s going on in both city and county government.

Regardless of whether he wins one, both or none, Pogreba will continue to work full time at Woodman’s supermarket.
