Gas prices could fall, before rising again by spring

Lowest prices in state since 2009

Gas is still $1.79. The La Crosse area is enjoying its lowest gas prices since the start of the Obama White House seven years ago, and it’s possible the prices could go a little lower.

Price watcher Nick Jarmusz from AAA in Wisconsin expects prices to go up again in the spring, but not to anywhere near $4, but maybe $3.

The lowest gas in Wisconsin now is a $1.64, near the Illinois border. Even lower prices can be found in the Twin Cities and other parts of Minnesota.

After gas finally bottomed out in early 2009, it eventually climbed back up to $4 a gallon over the next two years.
