Decision on Roosevelt school tonight
School could be
converted into apartments
A deal to sell La Crosse’s Roosevelt School to a Madison developer could be signed by the school board tonight.
The board is expected to vote on a purchase offer from Gorman and Company for the north-side school that was built 90 years ago.
The developers plan to spend about $6 million to convert Roosevelt into apartments. The La Crosse Boys & Girls Club is also interested in Roosevelt, reportedly as a temporary site for youth activities.
