Presidential candidates better pay attention to social security
New survey shows 90%
want to hear a plan
A new survey by the Iowa AARP shows that few issues generate as much universal concern as Social Security among those voting in Iowa caucuses next week.
Ninety percent want to hear presidential candidates’ plans for rescuing the program. Especially from those candidates who haven’t said much about it. Eight in ten say having a plan is a basic requirement for being president.
“It’s imp for our next president to have a plan for Social Security and that’s really (the) disconnect,” Anthony Carroll with the AARP said. “It’s not enough just to say, ss is imp I want to protect it, but having a plan.”
The same poll on Social Security found that democrats favor Hillary Clinton in next week’s caucuses and Republicans are leaning towards Ted Cruz.
