Job market stable in Wisconsin

La Crosse under
4% unemployment

New jobless numbers released from Madison this week appear to show some stability in local job markets.

Most metro areas and counties showed not much movement in unemployment rates between this past December and the same month last year.

All metros, including La Crosse, saw a drop in unemployment rate from last year.

All but four counties saw unemployment rates either stay the same or drop over last year’s numbers. Vernon County is among those four in the state that saw a slight increase.

La Crosse county and the metro area recorded the same 3.7-percent jobless rate for December.
