Tried to get cops to shoot him

A suicide-by-cop plan failed this week in La Crosse by a man who apparently made threats at a shelter with a knife.

He was driving Tuesday night after the threats and was pulled over.

During the stop, the man lunged at an officer and then held a knife to his own throat. One of the officers grabbed the guy’s arms and took him to the ground.

They say he admitted to pulling the knife out in hopes that police would shoot him.
