Fire engulfs garage, sends black smoke everywhere
Fire a block south of Logan M.S.
Fire crews had to fight flames, lots of smoke and extreme heat in a garage fire Thursday night.
The fire was reported shortly after 5:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Avon Street, a block south of Logan Middle School.
The roof of the garage had already burned through by the time firemen got to the scene. Cause is unknown, but flammable materials were in the garage, where a boat and a vehicle were stored.
