Students prepare for winter emergencies

La Crosse Logan High School students popped open their car trunks Friday to find out if they’re prepared in case of a winter emergency.

The Trunk Junk event was aimed at urging teenage drivers to have supplies in their cars to help them if they become stranded in bad weather or because of an accident and to clean out the trunks, if they were filled with junk.

Students were rewarded with gift cards if they could find clothes, blankets, or jumper cables in their cars.

They also were given some supplies if they weren’t carrying those items in the trunk.
