Five arrested in downtown La Crosse heroin bust
Guns, money and heroin found
Five have been arrested in La Crosse after what police are calling “a quickly developing heroin investigation.”
Cops say they executed a search warrant at an apartment on Fourth Street, downtown Monday night and found four guns, a tiny amount of heroin and $2,332 in cash. One of the guns had been reported stolen in Trempealeau County.
Police say downtown business owners cooperated in gathering information for the arrests.
Three were arrested on drug and weapons charges: 34-year-old Albert Williams of Onalaska, Wis., 20-year-old Michael Jones from La Crosse and 21-year-old Whitney Dunagan, also from La Crosse. Two more were taken into custody on warrant and probation violations: 30-year-old Nicholas Marney from La Crescent, Minn., and 29-year-old Miguel Lopez from Onalaska.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
