Gov. Walker signs bill taking federal money from Planned Parenthood

A victory for pro-life advocates,
federal gov. can take action 

A big potential blow to Planned Parenthood funding in Wisconsin is reason to cheer for several groups. 

Matt Sande is with the group Pro-Life Wisconsin and says two bills signed by Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker on Thursday help steer millions of federal dollars away from Planned Parenthood.

“That’s important to the pro-life taxpayers,” Sande said, “that this state, that their hard-earned tax dollars are not going to organizations that perform abortions.”

Planned Parenthood claims the attacks on the organization really only hurt the health of the thousands of women who get basic health services at their clinics.

“They defund … Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin of over $8 million,” Sande said.

Planned Parenthood also claims the new rules can’t go into effect until the federal government takes additional action.
