Trump most popular vote among Republicans

If the presidential election happened right now in Wisconsin, Bernie Sanders would win over any current Republican candidate.

That, according to the latest Marquette University Law School poll released today.

The poll says the Democratic senator from Vermont – at least among those asked in Wisconsin – would wallop all of the top three Republican candidates in a head-to-head contest.

The poll says Sanders beats both Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz by 18 points and Donald Trump by 20.

Hillary Clinton, meanwhile, beats Trump by 10 points but is dead even with both Rubio and Cruz in a hypothetical matchup.

Despite that, most in the state believes Clinton will be the Democratic Party’s eventual nominee.

As for results for each party’s presidential nomination, the poll says about the same.

Sanders narrowly beats Clinton 44 percent to 43 based on those polled who would be voting in the April Democratic primary. Trump takes 30 percent on the Republican side among voters, while Rubio had 20 percent and Cruz had 19.
