Project had been delayed multiple times

ONALASKA, Wis. — Crews have begun construction on a major stretch of State Highway 35.

The project had been delayed multiple times before getting the green light for this spring.

“We’re just tickled to death, it’s finally getting done,” Barry Nimtz from the Blue Moon said. “I think it’s going to be a godsend for commuters, along with our customers and employees.”

Nimtz says he expects to be hurt initially with the construction, but the long term benefits are worth it.

“It’s going to help us get out of the restaurant, get into the hotel next door to us, being able to make the left turns getting into the parking lot much easier again, much safer,” Nimtz said.

Construction is scheduled to be completed by November.
