Police tried to pull the boy over after he drove the big truck onto a highway heading toward Byron, Minn. But the big rig smashed into some squad cars, and kept going.

The boy eluded police for about an hour as he drove between Byron, Kasson and Dodge Center Minnesota.

Witnesses say it was like a parade, with people living along the route of the chase stepping outside to watch the spectacle.

They say the boy was smiling, hooting, and hollering as he drove, and seemed to be having a good time.

Police eventually caught up to the driver when he drove down a dead end street, then tried to run. He as arrested, and is likely to face several charges.

Two police squad cars were damaged in the chase.
