Davids wants system shut down

Results of an audit of MNSure, Minnesota’s health insurance exchange, might not seem too horrible.  

There are just three areas where the feds found MNsure lacking in compliance with federal rules.

That, however, is apparently just another nail in the coffin for the program frequently criticized by Preston state rep., Republican Greg Davids.

“This is just another in a long line of failures in MNsure,” Davids said. “It didn’t work. And you have the governor apologizing for the failures of MNsure and that’s just disturbing to me.”

There are other parts of an audit of MNsure about not keeping accurate records, not tracking payroll and misusing fed money that’s fuel for Davids’ argument to shut the whole system down.

“What the audit showed was that there’s more money that’s been spent inappropriately,” Davids said. “We’ve spent over $300 million on this failed system.

“No matter how bad you think MNsure is, it’s actually much much worse.”

MNsure has also come under fire recently for not getting mandatory tax forms mailed out to thousands of enrollees this tax season.
