The eyes of the political world remain focused on Wisconsin, where voters will have their say in Tuesday’s presidential primary. Donald Trump remains the front runner for the GOP, and he remarked while campaigning in the state that the race is “pretty much over” if he wins Wisconsin. He may be right. But if Ted Cruz wins, the path for Trump to capture the nomination narrows significantly, and it increases the possibility of a brokered convention. On the democratic side, Hilllary Clinton continues her delegate lead over Bernie Sanders, but Bernie has some momentum, and most polls in the state show them neck and neck. A Wisconsin win could keep Sander’s campaign alive. So there is much at stake in Tuesday’s election, with many observers saying what happens in Wisconsin Tuesday could change the face of the election. Clearly, there is a lot at stake. That’s why it is so important that voters in Wisconsin head to the polls on Tuesday. The results could determine who become the political parties nominees. There are a number of other issues on Tuesday’s ballot, including a contentious race for a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, and many local county board races in La Crosse. Yet election officials predict voter turnout in Wisconsin will be only 40%. That would be the highest turnout for a presidential primary in the state since 1980. But that number should be much higher. Be sure to make plans to cast your ballot on Tuesday. The stakes in this election couldn’t be much higher.
