VIDEO: Incident between Campbell police, protester that filed lawsuit

Lawsuit says chief violated
protester’s civil rights

At this point, no comment from the town of Campbell on the lawsuit filed against the town over a ticket given to a protester on the pedestrian-bridge-overpass, last fall.  

The suit comes from Fred Schneider with the group Overpasses for America. 

Below is video the exchange between Schneider and Campbell police chief Drew Gavrilos.

The lawsuit says Gavrilos violated Schneider’s civil rights, in part, by dragging him off the overpass where Schneider and a small group were holding American flags – a demonstration not allowed under a town of Campbell ordinance. Schneider was briefly detained.

The group claims the ban against such demonstrations is unconstitutional. Campbell’s attorney and Gavrilos have no comment on the federal lawsuit.
