UW-L faculty, students write letter welcoming Muslims
Chancellor Gow supports statement
A letter written by a group of faculty and students from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse decries the racism of Islamophobia and anti-Muslim rhetoric and says they are dedicated to creating a welcoming environment for Muslims.
The statement reads:
Chancellor Joe Gow supported the letter.
“We’re very proud to be a very diverse community. We have students of all relations,” Gow said. “When they feel that it’s important to remind people of that, I’m always supportive of those efforts.”
Gow didn’t write the letter himself, but did look over it and gave his approval.
