The $54,000 playground at Cameron Park is ready for use
Playground means alcohol ban in place
Kids are already taking full advantage of the new playground equipment at Cameron Park in La Crosse.
Crews finished piling wood chips around the $54,000 equipment Wednesday morning.
Soon after, Patty, who was playing with her 6 year-old granddaughter Julia talked about how she loves it.
“I think that it will be a wonderful edition to the downtown area,” she said. “During farmers’ markets on the weekends, the kids will have so much more to do.”
The city parks dept. had the farmers’ markets at the park in mind when pushing for the new playground equipment.
The addition of the equipment, by city ordinance, means alcohol is banned within 1,000 feet of the playground, so, essentially, the entire park.
